Early Years Artists – exciting new roles !
We have brand new, full or part-time opportunities for Artists with an interest in Early Years education and children’s development, at Cuddly Bear Day Care in Sydenham, SE26.
An established and Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ nursery with a big interest in art; our ethos is very much about learning through play. Now we want to extend that through art, by being more creative, using sustainable materials to encourage young children to better explore, be curious and express themselves.
With our extensive Early Years’ experience, plus the benefit of having a local sister company which is an arts studio and community creativity hub (Artisan Village), we want to establish a new, inspirational arts and creative programme, that is part of our learning environment in our nursery.
This environment should be somewhere where our 3 and 4 year old children can continue learning through play, alongside the national curriculum, (the EYFS), through art. We want you to work with a team of Early Years practitioners in one of our 3 pre-school groups to;
- Create an inspirational environment for children and the team, which is stimulating and exciting
- Create an arts and creative programme of age-appropriate activities alongside the EY team
- Develop meaningful experiences for children, by introducing basic artistic concepts and materials ie light, shadow, paint, clay, sound etc
- To be able to nurture and understand children’s ideas and voices, to use them in the programme
- To evaluate the value and outcomes of the activities alongside the intent of the EYFS to further plan and extend activities
- Be involved in constructive feedback to the EY team and parents about each child
Ideally you should have this experience;
- Qualification in an arts, design, textile or similar at degree level
- Experience with children – babysitting, workshops, siblings – tell us!
Roles are full or part-time and for a fixed period of one year, which could be extended.
Interviews will be held on 9, 11, 12 April.
We anticipate a lot of interest in this role – we may not be able to respond to each application, individually – sorry.
